Most kids' bilingual reading resources focus on grammar and vocabulary, but overlook storytelling and cultural identity — making language learning feel like a chore rather than a connection. For many Latin American kids in the U.S., Spanish can feel intimidating, especially when it’s not reflected in the media they love.
Author's Note
As an early childhood educator, I promised to celebrate every child’s culture and identity—and I hope Dos Two carries that spirit forward. I’m a proud Nuyorican from Brooklyn, now residing in Rochester, NY. Upon retirement from teaching Kindergarten in a Dual-Language program, I co-founded Hipocampo Children’s Books with my partner, Pamela Bailie. Fun facts: I love traveling, practicing Tai Chi, playing percussion, and performing spoken word!

Soy un orgulloso nuyorriqueño de Brooklyn, ahora residente en Rochester, NY. Al jubilarme de enseñar kínder en un programa de lenguaje dual, cofundé la librería infantil Hipocampo junto a mi pareja, Pamela Bailie.
